Little Things That Make Me Happy

Little Things That Make Me Happy

A few weeks ago my lovely boyfriend asked me what makes me happy, I’d been having a stressful couple of weeks and quite frankly, I needed cheering up… So I set out on a journey to discover at least 5 things a day that make me happy; it sounds easy enough, right?! Well, for a serial-pessimist (perhaps just a realist?!) like me, it wasn’t gonna be easy… or so I thought… it’s actually pretty easy to choose 5 things per day… especially when you have a pretty good life, so here goes…

My Lovely Boyfriend

Out of everything in this world that could possibly make me happy, my lovely boyfriend will always be #1. He somehow manages to cheer me up on the dullest of days… I probably don’t express my gratitude for this nearly as much as I should… but he is my rock! Everything about him makes me happy; from the way he smiles and laughs to the way he sleeps (he literally looks like an angel?!!!) to our little facetime conversations in the middle of the night when all’s he really wants is to sleep! I love him, he gives me hundreds of things to smile about every. single. day. and for that he will always be #1.

My Adorable Nephew

I’ve been quite close to my nephew Aidan since he was little (well, little-er than he is now), and there’s nothing greater than being adored by a 5 year old, right?! I mean, children are great judges of character, so it always makes me happy when he runs and jumps on me whenever he sees me, and that he is still my only nephew who repeatedly chants “aunty kirstyyyyyyyy” when he wants something. Which is usually for me to take photo’s of him in some kind of pose – due to his autism he is constantly obsessing over something and lately it’s been photography… and it’s really cute!

Dopey Mugs

I’m pretty much the clutz friend and family member… ask anyone, I trip over EVERYTHING, I bang my shins on tables and chairs, and I fall down ditches… However, in my 21 years of existence I’ve never broken a bone. On my Birthday, my boyfriend took me to the Disney Store (or rather I dragged him in to look at Marvel toys, lol!) and so he bought me a very appropriate mug for my tea, it’s almost definitely my favourite mug ever and I drink pretty much everything out of it.. and when I say drink, I wouldn’t live up to my name if I didn’t at least spill SOME of it down my front… which I always do.

Roald Dahl Books

A few years ago (ok I was like 10) I read Roald Dahl’s Autobiography “Boy” and I adored it, it was amazing being able to read about all of the things that made the guy behind my favourite books – incredibly mischievous, just like me, which is probably why I loved it so much. Albeit many of his stories were absolutely terrifying, but kids need toughening up sometimes, right?! I did have nightmares about the stuff the Witches did to poor Luke though! I absolutely LOVE Witches, Esio Trot, Matilda, and CATCF. I’m going to leave you with this quote from The Twits. What are your favourites? Leave a comment.

My Fire TV Box

A man, this is my life, I love TV and Movies and there’s nothing better than unwinding after a long day or week by watching a good tv show or film, there’s a huge selection of pretty much everything you could ever want to see… and if it isn’t available, there’s a shop where you definitely CAN buy it. It also includes Netflix, Youtube, Spotify, Live TV, BBC iPlayer, TED, etc… there’s also a tonne of cool apps and games that you can download.

Welcome to my little corner of the interweb. I constantly strive to chronicle my existence through written word; which is much of what you'll find here. xox
