My Netflix Favourites

My Netflix Favourites

If it weren’t for Netflix I never would have discovered TV shows like Dexter or Criminal Minds and would therefore never learned how to kill someone in 4751 different ways (without leaving any evidence behind,) dispose of their body and then ultimately get away with murder – so I have a lot to be thankful for, really.

No but seriously, over the last year or so I’ve found myself to be quite the binge watcher, and I have discovered some of the GREATEST TV SHOWS EVER, and also some of the worst, and although the good far outweighs the bad, there is a lot of junk on there, and so I thought I’d help you all out a little and give you a top 5 list of MY favourites that keep me going back for more. Enjoy!

DEXTER

Dexter Morgan is your modern day Avenger, he enjoys bowling, donuts, and killing people.

I have to admit, up until a year ago I had never really bothered with this TV show, being in the UK, it can be hard to keep up with US TV shows, but I gave it a shot when it appeared on Netflix and I never looked back.

It’s a great show, it’s full of blood, gore, and some mild-ish violence, there is always a great storyline unfolding, from the first series to the eigth, you are never ever without some action to keep you on the edge of your seat.

He’s just a psychopath trying to find his place in the world.

CASTLE

Bored with his success, Richard Castle is drawn in to an entire new world. Crime novelist by day, super-crime-fighter by night. Castle, is called in by the NYPD to solve the case of a copycat killer who re-creates murder scenes from Castle’s novels.

Combining his writer’s intuition with her creative detective work, the pair decide that working together has it’s benefits and continue investigating strange homicides around New York, all the while building a strong, if complicated, relationship with each other.

I watched all 6 seasons in under a week, I think I showered like twice and got about 4 hours of sleep that week, it was amazing, the complicated relationship that unfolds between Castle and Beckett is enough to keep you on the edge of your seat, there’s a huge storyline that unfolds among fighting crime and fighting the urges and feelings they inevitably have toward each other, is is literally an explosive TV show you’re bound to love.

THE VAMPIRE DIARIES

I remember seeing this on TV a few years before I actually started watching it and thinking ‘oh here we go, more bloody vampire shite’ – I hated all of that, but after putting all of my cynicism aside I decided to watch it, and oh my god I loved it!

I can’t tell you much without giving it all away, but as you expected, it’s about a Vampire who keeps a diary, oh he may also have an evil brother, they may also be in love with the same girl, maybe…

PRETTY LITTLE LIARS

The show follows the lives of four girls, whose clique falls apart after the disappearance of their leader, Alison. One year later, the estranged friends are reunited as they begin receiving messages from a mysterious figure named “A”, who threatens to expose their deepest secrets, including ones only Alison knew… but they soon realise it can’t be her, when her body is discovered, which means someone else is out to destroy them all.

I first started watching this about a year ago on Netflix, I saw it, it looked and sounded good, I became obsessed, and then I watched all 5 seasons in a week… it was a wonderful week, it has so many twists and turns, you start to think you know who ‘A’ is and then something happens that makes you question your own bloody sanity, you’ll be pulling your hair out screaming “WHO THE F*** IS A” at 4am… it will haunt your dreams, it will take over your LIFE!!!

Watch at own risk, Do not blame me when this show ruins your life.

It also has some serious eye candy in the form of Ezra Fitz… mmmhmmmm.

A LIST OF ALL OF THE SHOWS I FOUND ON NETFLIX AND LOVED:

American Horror Story, Luther, Chuck, Orange Is The New Black, Suits, Grimm, Caliornication, The Returned, Firefly, Big School.

Are there any shows you discovered on Netflix that you loved? Let me know in the comments 🙂
